Keane close to Anfield move

There have been reports this morning that Robbie Keane is on his way to Liverpool to thrash out personal terms with the Reds. It is understood that Liverpool are set to pay £18.5 million to Tottenham for the Ireland international.

Keane himself has been offered a whopping £80,000 per week contract to move to Anfield; and has always insisted that despite being happy at White Hart Lane, should a big opportunity arise for him he would consider it.

Keane has always admitted that his boyhood heroes were Liverpool, and the player could be soon to make his debut quicker than expected, against Villarreal.

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has been scouring the market for a perfect partner for Fernando Torres for next year.
