Arshavin price drops

Zenit St Petersburg have reportedly lowered their asking price for star player Andrei Arshavin. It is understood that Tottenham are set to sell Dimitar Berbatov and replace him with Andrei Arshavin. Spurs have been linked with the Russian international all summer.

‘‘There are only small differences left,’’ said Zenit sporting director Konstantin Sarsaniya.

‘‘Zenit have decided to reduce the asking price for Andrei, but exactly how much I cannot say because the negotiations were led by Zenit president Alexander Dyukov.’
