Arsenal 2 - 1 Man Utd

Arsenal ended their poor show in the Premier League with a spirited performance at the Emirates beating champions Man Utd, thanks to two goals from young Samir Nasri.
Venue: Emirates Stadium [60106]
Scorers : Arsenal (Samir Nasri 22', 47') 2 - 1 Man Utd (Rafael 90')
The clash between the two longest serving managers in the English Premier League saw the Frenchman, Wenger, edging the Scot in a close contest. An unmarked Samir Nasri scored the first goal in the 22' as Man Utd failed to clear their lines off a freekick.
As always, the game was high tempo, end-to-end stuff with high flying tackles, counter attacks, pin point passes and flowing football. Rooney and Ronaldo both started looking for their 100th goal in the Premier League and both could have scored if they had been in their elements. Rooney could not continue his great form and wasted a couple of good opportunities in the first half and was subbed later on in the game.
Despite clearly leading in the number of chances created, the Red Devils went down a second time three minutes after the restart. The Gunners' midfield maestro, Francesc Fabregas, found unmarked Nasri lurking the penalty area, thanks to the acres of space left, he lashed it past Van der Sar.
Minutes after the Nasri goal, Man Utd had a great chance to comeback, Park finding Ronaldo although the latter's shot was just wide off Almunia's post. Although young right-back, Rafael, pulled one back for Man Utd in the dying minutes of the second half with a superbly taken volley - yes! he is Brazilian - Sir Alex's men could not find the second goal to save the match.
Wenger needed to win the match badly, and he did it. This was a big game for them and they grabbed three crucial points to keep themselves alive in the title race.
