Barry to buy out contract?

It is understood that Aston Villa midfielder Gareth Barry could still quit the club at the end of the season. The England international has reportedly been looking at the option of buying out his own contract.

It is believed that he would be able to leave the club this summer and buy out his contract for as little as £2 million.

The ruling, otherwise known as the 'Webster ruling' will allow Barry to leave and make a move elsewhere. Arsenal and Liverpool are apparently his preferred destinations.

Barry has been in inspired form again this year for both England and Aston Villa.
