Doyle inks Reading deal
Reading striker Kevin Doyle is delighted to have agreed a new contract at the club, especially after the interest of several clubs including Sunderland and Everton. Doyle is valued by his club in the region of £3.5 million.
He told the Evening Post: "We have been speaking for a few weeks. I want a clear mind and clear head before January, not just for me but for my family as well.
"If a club wants to accept a bid or whatever then that's up to them, but I am 100 per cent focused. Moving in January is not the ideal situation.
"When you sign a new contract two months before the window then it's very unusual to see any player then moving on.
"I didn't want to be upset or mentally tired when January came and the club didn't want that either.
"It's not a nice situation to be in, so now I can concentrate on the difficult task of getting us straight back up to the Premier League.
"There were bound to be questions, but hopefully now I've put that out of the equation. This season is so important to us."
