Real Madrid sack Schuster

Real Madrid boss Bernd Schuster has been sacked on Tuesday afternoon following their dismal performance in La Liga in the recent weeks. He has been replaced by former Sevilla and Spurs manager Juande Ramos. The official announcement was made in a press conference held by Real Madrid Sporting Director Mijatovic and Board Spokesman Miguel Angel Arroyo.

The Spanish giants, Real Madrid, have sacked their coach Bernd Schuster following Real Madrid's poor run in the league. Mijatovic said that Juando Ramos will be the replacement and he will take charge by Tuesday evening.

This announcement came soon after Schuster's press conference in which he admitted that it will be impossible to win in Camp Nou El Clasico.

Schuster's inability to turn the tides and secure a win against Sevilla in the last match has voted against him. Real Madrid let too many goals in the match and finally succumbed to a heavy loss taking them out of the top four in the league.

Real Madrid lost many matches recently including a home and away defeat against Juventus in the champions league. In addition to that they lost an away game against Getafe - which has many former Real Madrid Castilla players. The match against Sevilla acted as the final nail in the coffin for Schuster's managerial career, verified by the booing fans in Santiago Bernabeu at the team's half hearted performance in the first period.

Real Madrid have failed to gain clean sheets and their defense always look indisciplined and chaotic.

Recently, the Spanish numero uno, Iker Casillas admitted that this was his worst start to the Primera Liga. The recent performances showed that Los Blancos had many major issues in their defense and midfield in addition to the injury of ace striker Nistelrooy.

Football pundits like Balague, Cryuff and Martinez commented that Real Madrid lacked confidence and the killer instinct they had in the last season. Poor communication between the players on the pitch, lack of organization in the defense had resulted in the Madrid team letting too many goals even in set-piece situations.

To add to the worry of fans and players alike, their arch rivals, Barcelona, is enjoying a great run topping the league and the goal scoring charts. Real Madrid is nine points behind the Blaugranas, and has Valencia, Villareal and Sevilla above them.

Real Madrid is yet to face Barcelona in the El Clasico, which kicks off this Saturday. It will surely be a tough test for Ramos, considering the great goal scoring form Barca is in.
