Axel Witsel to Chelsea?

Chelsea are apparently ready to make a move for Standard Liege winger Axel Witsel in the January transfer window. Luiz Felipe Scolari is ready to splash the cash for the Belgian international for a fee of around 15 million GBP.

Witsel is regarded as one of the best young players in the Jupiler League in Belgium, and has played most of his national sides games in the World Cup 2010 qualification.

Witsel had formed a formidable partnership in midfield with Everton midfielder Fellaini and Liverpool target Steven Defour at Standard Liege.

Witsel is comfortable playing anywhere in midfield.
