Carlos Vela to Portsmouth?
Tony Adams is apparently ready to find a replacement for Jermain Defoe, who recently quit Portsmouth to return to his old club Tottenham. The Pompey coach is keen to bring Arsenal forward Carlos Vela to the club on loan.
It seems that Adams will turn to his old coach, Arsene Wenger, for a helping hand in his search for a short-term striking replacement for Defoe.
Mexican international Vela is having limited opportunities at the Gunners, behind van Persie, Adebayor and Bendtner, but when called upon continues to show he is a brilliant prospect for the future.
The chance of first-team football is something the Mexican will be keen to accept, and Portsmouth are expected to lodge a formal offer in the next couple of days.
