David Villa to Liverpool?

The word is that David Villa is not close to a move to Man City but is moving a step closer to Liverpool. It appears that Rafa Benitez wants to partner the Spaniard with fellow countryman Fernando Torres.

Villa could be set to leave Valencia for a fee in the region of £30 million.

There has been no official word yet from either Liverpool or from Valencia, but it is understood the player is very keen on joining up with Torres at Anfield.

If any deal is completed, it will be a major coup for Liverpool.
