Chelsea to bid for Beckham?

There have been rumours this morning that Chelsea could make a shock bid for David Beckham in the summer, should Carlo Ancelotti, as expected arrive at Stamford Bridge.

Still owned by the LA Galaxy, Chelsea have the financial backing to thrash out a deal with the American side for the signature of the England international.

The rumours suggest that £5 million would be enough for the MLS to relinquish ownership of their prized asset.

However, Beckham is wary of the fact that Chelsea are rivals of his former club Man Utd, and could well be reluctant to join the Blues.
