Messi eyes Mascherano

Lionel Messi has admitted that he would love his club, Barcelona, to make a move for his Argentinian team mate Javier Mascherano in the summer transfer window.

Barcelona have been linked with a £15 million move for Mascherano, but as yet Liverpool have been reluctant to sell the midfielder.

Messi is keen to see his international team mate join Barca, however.

"Of course I would like him to join, who would not want to play with great players like Javier. I hope he can come here," Messi told El Mundo Deportivo.
