Distin on Sunderland shopping list

Sylvain Distin is on Sunderland boss Steve Bruce's shopping list this summer. The 31 year old centre back is currently at Portsmouth, but is keen to quit the club for a new opportunity.

Aston Villa and Sunderland are now doing battle to land the French centre back, but Distin's preferred destination is known to be the Villains.

The fee that has been mooted for the player is in the region of 5.5 million GBP, but no offers have been accepted by Portsmouth just yet for the player.

Distin has also been linked with a return to his homeland, where Lyon are interested.
