Arsenal medical booked for Bruno Guimaraes

Arsenal have scheduled a medical for Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes on Monday after reaching an agreement on the transfer fee.

The Brazilian has been the Gunners' prime target to bolster their midfield, and they have finally reached an agreement with the Magpies for his services.

A deal has been finalised for £80m including add-ons and The Times report that a medical has been scheduled for the 28-year-old on Monday morning.

Guimaraes has already agreed personal terms over a five-year deal with the Gunners and a transfer will be a formality once his medical is successful.

The Gunners have made just one new outfield signing in Christos Tzolis this summer and Guimaraes looks poised to become the second pretty soon.

The club are not done yet in the transfer window, and they are determined to pursue a stunning deal for Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior too.

The Brazilian is open to the prospect of joining the Gunners if he cannot negotiate fresh terms with Madrid over a new deal beyond June 2027.
