Man Utd after Ryan Shawcross?

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has turned his attention to young Stoke City centre back Ryan Shawcross, according to reports this morning. The Scot will splash around 7.5 million GBP to land the centre back.

Shawcross is widely regarded as one of the best young centre backs in the Premiership, and a number of clubs including Newcastle, Tottenham and Liverpool are all monitoring the situation closely.

Stoke boss Tony Pulis will not be impressed with any interest in one of his star players, and has reportedly told Shawcross himself that he would like to keep him at the club.
