Aulas shrugs off Lyon loss

Aulas shrugs off Lyon loss

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has shrugged off suggestions that Lyon's second consecutive 3-0 defeat can be labelled as "crisis".

"There is no crisis but a general questioning. The club must take some decisions," Aulas said after talks with coach Alain Perrin and his advisor Bernard Lacombe.

"We're going to put in place individual and group interviews between the coaching staff and the players to help the club get out of this difficult situation," Aulas added.

Rangers' inflicted only Lyon's second defeat in their last 20 home matches in the Champions League on Tuesday.

That reverse followed Lyon' opening group game defeat by the same margin at Barcelona and it left them footing Group E with no points and six goals conceded and none scored.

"It was a bitter defeat," said Aulas.

"Despite the difficulty of the task, it is still possible to qualify, but the UEFA Cup could still represent a good challenge for the club," he said, acknowledging the likelihood of elimination from the Champions League.
