Sunderland boss Steve Bruce wants to make Connor Wickham his big signing this summer according to the Daily Mail. If reports are to be believed, Sunderland will offer 9.5m for the Ipswich striker.
Wickham is also being chased by Tottenham and Liverpool, but Sunderland offer Wickham the chance for immediate first team football. Bruce sees Wickham and Asamoah Gyan as his strike partnership for 2011-12.
Ipswich have been nurturing Wickham's talent over the past two seasons and due to reported financial difficulties are ready to let their prized asset leave.
