Gabriel Heinze talks with Everton

Argentinian defender Gabriel Heinze is in shock discussions with Everton regarding a one year contract at Goodison Park. The former Man Utd defender is available on a free after his contract at Marseille expired last month.

Heinze hinted last year that he would be interested in returning to England, but many clubs were put off by talk of his £60,000 a week salary and a £1m fee that Marseille were looking for.

Now the player is available on a free, David Moyes is lining up the Argentine as a replacement for Joseph Yobo, who is expected to sign for Fenerbahce next week.
