Arsenal's target edging closer to a move to the Emirates
Arsenal are finally closing in on their second successful summer signing in the form of QPR goalkeeper Julio Cesar. The Brazilian International was subjected to make a move to Serie A side Napoli, but the club from Naples were unable to meet the player's wage demands. This could leave the route wide open for the Brazilian star to return to the Premier League with the Gunners.
During an interview with Calciomercato.it, Julio Cesar’s agent Josias Cardoso said, “I recently have not had contact with Milan or Roma. Arsenal remain a concrete option.
"His statement comes after Cesar fell out with the negotiators at Napoli, who refused to pay the wage he currently earns at QPR.
"It would’ve been normal for someone in his position to ask for a pay rise, but he didn’t. Is there still hope of seeing him in Italy? If I don’t have official contact with a club, then I cannot have hope.”
Arsenal have been in the look out for an experienced goalkeeper this summer and the signing of Cesar could achieve that goal.Likewise Cesar would also relish the opportunity to play at a club that would offer him Champions League football, ahead of the 2014 FIFA World Cup to be held in Brazil.
