Gustavo dismisses transfer talks
Wolfsburg midfielder Luiz Gustavo insists he has no intentions of leaving the Bundesliga club anytime soon, after the player was linked to a move to Arsenal this summer.
The Brazilian international was reportedly being chased by the Gunners in the last few days of the transfer window, but a deal did not come through, with rumours suggesting that the move will now be completed in January next year.
But the 27-year-old confirms that he is not looking forward to any sort of change in clubs and wants to play for the Wolves for many years to come.
“I feel my future is here and I am able to imagine playing on for many years, because I identify with the city of Wolfsburg”, Gustavo was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
The former Bayern Munich player joined Wolfsburg in 2013 after making 100 appearances for the Bavarians across all competitions during his two years with the Allianz Arena outfit, and has since then made 30 league appearances for Dieter Hecking’s side.
He also has 27 international caps to his name since making his debut in August 2011, and was also a part of the World Cup squad that played in Brazil this year.
