Man Utd promise number 7 shirt to world-class forward
Manchester United will reportedly reward Antoine Griezmann with the iconic number seven shirt, should he join the club in the summer.
The France international is deemed to have already finalized personal terms with the Old Trafford outfit, and it is left for United to settle a transfer sum with Atletico Madrid.
According to The People, the 25-year-old will be honoured with the club's number seven shirt - formerly worn by George Best, Eric Cantona, Cristiano Ronaldo, and idol David Beckham, as part of the deal.
It is added that the Mancunian giants would be willing to part with a £70m fee which is still short of Atleti's £86m valuation - the release clause of the player.
Meanwhile, Atleti president Enrique Cerezo has recently dismissed the claims by suggesting that Griezmann would remain with the club 'for a long time'.
