Chelsea planning to hijack Man Utd deal for Lindelof
Premier League leaders Chelsea could reportedly beat rivals Manchester United to the signing of Benfica defender Victor Lindelof.
The Sweden international has been on the Red Devils radar since the start of December, but it appears that the club have yet to finalise a sum for his services.
Benfica were initially expected to accept a £38m package for the player's transfer, but it is now revealed that the club are demanding much higher than that, and this has stalled negotiations with United.
According to The Sun, Antonio Conte's side have joined the pursuit of the highly-talented centre-half, and they could be willing to match the demands of Primeira Liga outfit.
Chelsea had sanctioned the sale of midfielder Oscar to Shanghai SIPG for £60m earlier in the month, and this provides them with the leverage to spend big on a fresh recruit.
