Key West Ham player looking for summer move
Key West Ham player looking for summer move
West Ham United star Michail Antonio has become a fan favourite with the London club since his move up from the Championship. His power and pace constantly put defenders on the back foot, but the Hammers face losing him in the summer after difficulties in contract negotiations.
The Times reports today that Antonio has become disillusioned at the London Stadium, after a new contract offer would see him earning less that January signings Robert Snodgrass and Jose Fonte. It is hard to deny that the powerful winger has become one of the clubs most important players over the last two seasons, and he clearly feels that fact should be reflected in a new deal.
Although typically a winger, Michail Antonio has performed in several positions for West Ham since arriving, varying from a right full back role to centre forward. In long Premier League campaigns, where injuries are common, a player who can adapt so well can be crucial.
If Antonio does decide to leave West Ham, he will have no problem finding a new club. In the last transfer window, Antonio Conte showed interest in taking him to Chelsea. The formation that the Premier League leaders currently use could accommodate Antonio well, which would see him appear in an attacking wing back role.
