Lyon in the hunt for Heinze
Lyon in the hunt for Heinze
Gabriel Heinze could be on his way to French champions Lyon after head coach Alain Perrin admitted an interest in the Argentinian defender. There appears to be a stalemate in negotations between Liverpool and Man Utd.
Liverpool had met Heinze's original asking price of £6.8m for the defender, but Man Utd rejected the offer announcing that they would not sell to their fierce rivals.
Now it appears that Lyon have met the asking price, which Man Utd have accepted, despite Alex Ferguson announcing Heinze could still have a future at the club.
An injury to Lyon's key defender Cris has meant there may need to be a replacement brought in.
