Olivier Giroud praises Chelsea starlet after Brighton win
Olivier Giroud has praised the performance of Callum Hudson-Odoi following the club's 3-0 Premier League triumph over Brighton & Hove Albion on Wednesday night.
The 18-year-old has managed to make his breakthrough with the Blues during the ongoing campaign and he was recently handed his maiden league start against Chris Hughton's side.
Hudson-Odoi was a lively figure from the right side of the attack through the game and he managed to make the most of the opportunity by providing the assist for the opening goal.
Speaking after the clash, Giroud was not surprised by the performance from the teenager and stated that the Englishman has the potential to become a huge hit.
"I'm not surprised [about Hudson-Odoi]," Giroud told BBC Sport . "He's improving. He's got huge potential. I'm sure he will become a top, top player. He needs to play in more games, but it's coming."
Chelsea are currently separated from the top four of the Premier League on goal difference. They are scheduled to host West Ham United in the London derby on Monday night.
