Manchester United want Tottenham Hotspur star to replace Nemanja Matic?

Manchester United have reportedly earmarked Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Eric Dier as a potential replacement for Nemanja Matic this summer.

The Red Devils managed a disappointing sixth-placed finish in the Premier League last term and this is likely to trigger a summer rebuild under the guidance of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

According to The Times, Matic could be one of the players, who could be shown the exit door this summer and Dier has been identified as the prime target to fill the void.

United and Spurs have held a mixed relationship since the former's signing of Dimitar Berbatov more than a decade ago but the report suggests that the Red Devils are confident of doing business with their rivals.

Still, the England international won't come on the cheap owing to his versatility to play in both the defence and midfield while he has two more years remaining on his contract with the north London giants.
