He is unlucky: Mauricio Pochettino on Reece James' return
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has said that Reece James has been unlucky, having missed most of the season with a hamstring injury.
The England international has picked up multiple setbacks this term. He made his first appearance of the year against Nottingham Forest today.
James came on as a 79th minute substitute and he made an instant impact, providing the assist for Nicolas Jackson's winner in the 82nd minute.
Speaking after the game, Pochettino said that James has been unlucky, but he can add quality and experience to the squad for the final stretch.
He said: "He is unlucky because we are at the end of the season and there are only two games less. He can add his quality and experience."
The Blues are currently seventh in the Premier League with 57 points. They are behind Newcastle United, who have a superior goal difference.
They will be aiming to win their final two games of the campaign and hope that the Magpies drop points in the race for the final Europa League spot.
