Tottenhams move for Cahill falls through

Tottenham's move for Cahill falls through

01 September 2011 - 01:19

Tottenham's move for Gary Cahill has fallen through on transfer deadline day, due to the 18m GBP pricetag Wanderers are chasing for the England international centre back.

  • Predicted Chelsea line-up (4-2-3-1) vs Aston Villa, Palmer starts
  • Chelsea ready to sell four home-grown players

  • Gary Cahill had been chased by both Arsenal and Tottenham, but both have been put off of a move for the defender because of the Bolton chairman's excessive demands for the player.

The last minute hitch is sure to disappoint Gary Cahill, who reportedly told Bolton that he would like to leave the club after hearing of Arsenal's interest.

Arsenal instead made a move for Per Mertesacker from Werder Bremen, whilst Redknapp confirmed Tottenham will no longer pursue the England international.
