Gyan rejects Sunderland exit talk

Gyan rejects Sunderland exit talk

01 September 2011 - 11:38

Asamoah Gyan admitted talk of a deadline day transfer request is completely false and that the Ghana international striker wanted to stay at Sunderland all along.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • Gyan quipped: "Those rumours have disturbed me to be honest.

"I do not want Sunderland fans to think I am not happy in Sunderland. I am happy with Steve Bruce who invested so much money in me and I will need to repay his faith."

Marseille had been mentioned as a possible destination for Gyan, as well as Tottenham, who had been rumoured with a move for the forward through much of the transfer window.

"It is normal to be excited when a club such as Tottenham is interested, however I have a contract somewhere and I intend to honour that
