Capello insists England can win at home

06 September 2011 - 00:42

Fabio Capello has laughed off suggestions that England are unable to win at Wembley ahead of the crunch tie with Wales in the Euro 2014 qualifiers. England have not won a game in their last four attempts at home.

  • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
  • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
  • England failed to win a game at home against Switzerland, Montengro and Ghana; whilst also losing to France at Wembley.

Subsequently, there concerns have been raised regarding England's home form of late.

Capello refused the claims, insisting that they will be prepared to play Wales this week.

"Overall, we have a good record at home. We won 11 games," Capello said.

"This is not fear. When we play away, we have players with a lot of quality.

"They are really fast. When they find space they are really dangerous.

"At home, the other team defends really well. They wait. They close the space.

"If you score a goal, it changes the game.

"But if you need to score one it is different."
