Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp wants to keep Niko Kranjcar at White Hart Lane, despite the Croatian midfielder's concerns that he is not playing enough first team football.

  • The Croatian midfielder has struggled to force his way into the first team at Spurs, partially because of the impressive form of fellow countryman Luka Modric and attacking midfielders Rafael van der Vaart, Gareth Bale and Aaron Lennon.

But Spurs' manager is desperate to keep the former Portsmouth man at the club for the time being.

"No chance. I wouldn't sell Niko," said Redknapp.

"He might play Sunday. I love Niko. He's a real footballer, a good player.

"He's just been unlucky, but he's important to me. You could say 'well, why don't you play bloody play him?' But I've got Gareth Bale. It's been hard to get him in the team."
