Brendan Rodgers signs new Swansea deal

09 February 2012 - 06:46

Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers has put pen to paper on a new contract with his club yesterday night. Rodgers will remain with the Liberty Stadium outfit until 2015.

 • Man City preparing talks for Chelsea defender
 • Chelsea make new decisions on Enzo Fernandez and Marc Cucurella
 • Rodgers is widely regarded as one of the best upcoming managers in the Premier League, and the new contract is sure to delight club fans.
“I’m delighted to sign the new deal,’’ said 39-year-old Rodgers. “And I hope the club and supporters feel it is still a good fit for everyone.
“I very much appreciate what Swansea as a city, a club and supporters have given me and my family in my time here, so signing the new contract was one of the easiest decisions of my life.
“I couldn’t have dreamt of things going much better when I came into the club. You are normally judged objectively over time, but I was aware that I needed to make an impact in a much shorter period.
“However, both the club and myself have grown hand and in hand – and the story continues."
