Chelsea last night held internal discussions regarding the long term future of Portuguese manager Andre Villas-Boas, and it appears that the club will continue to back the former Porto man. Rafa Benitez has been suggested as a possible replacement.
The Blues have endured a terrible season so far, and look set to crash out of the Champions League against Napoli next week unless they can overturn a 3-1 deficit.
In addition, Chelsea are struggling in the league where they are currently behind Arsenal who are in the all important fourth position and Champions League qualification for next year.
But last night, Roman Abramovich held a meeting and it appears that it has gone well for AVB. Abramovich spent 15m GBP bringing Villas-Boas to the club, and now he wants to stick with the Portuguese manager as he looks to resurrect the Blues' poor season.
