Berbatov admits painful life on Man Utd bench

11 March 2012 - 13:22

Dimitar Berbatov admits that this season has been a painful one for him, as he has been resigned to spending the majority of the season on the bench. The Bulgarian forward has only started five games this year.

 • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
 • Berbatov has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford as the likes of Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck are preferred by Sir Alex Ferguson.
"It's just about being ready," he told United Review. "We have a big squad and you know sometimes you are not going to play. It's sad and it's painful but you need to be strong and be prepared for when your team-mates need your help.
"We are a team and we want to win together."
