Man City to sign Lavezzi

11 April 2012 - 11:07

Manchester City is reportedly interested in signing Napoli's Lavezzi as a replacement for out-of-favour striker Mario Balotelli. The 26-year old plays as a support striker creating chances and scoring goals.

  • Chelsea to move for former Arsenal goalkeeper?
  • Arsenal handed huge boost ahead of Bournemouth clash

  • Man City are 8 points behind League leaders Man Utd, and has not won a game in the last three matches. The goal scoring department looks weak with an immature Balotelli and an arrogant Tevez. Edin Dzeko has failed to impress Mancini and had been given only a few chances.

Sergio Aguero has been the only consistent striker for The Citizens. Roberto Mancini is reportedly keen on providing a strong support striker for Aguero and fellow Argentine striker Lavezzi seems to fit the bill perfectly.

Ezequiel Lavezzi has created 46 and scored 47 goals from 181 matches for Napoli. His biggest strength is his intelligence in the pitch and his ability to find space in the field. He possess great pace and crossing ability along with great physical strength.
