Reading rule out Danny Welbeck loan move

Reading rule out Danny Welbeck loan move

11 January 2013 - 05:39

Reading manager Bryan McDermott has all but ruled out a potential loan move for Manchester United forward Danny Welbeck. The England international has lost his place in the first team to Robin van Persie and in recent weeks, Javier Hernandez has been preferred.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • Welbeck is understood to have been unhappy at his lack of playing time, but only recently signed a fresh deal at Old Trafford and is ready to wait for a chance in the first team.

“I can’t see Sir Alex Ferguson sending Danny out to any club," said Reading manager McDermott.

“I don’t know where this has came from, it’s got nothing to do with me.

“Welbeck’s a great player and I’m sure Sir Alex Ferguson thinks he’s a great player too. Everyone in the country thinks that.”
