Arsenal make ambitious Rooney bid

23 June 2013 - 04:59

The Gunners are seemingly in no mood to save a single buck in their £70 million transfer chest. Arsenal have been linked with an audacious bid for Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney.

  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal
  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town

  • Arsene Wenger has targeted Rooney for the upcoming transfer season as he is keen on playing the English star in an attacking midfield role.

With reports suggesting Carlo Ancelotti's much awaited move to Bernabeu as new manager to be announced soon, Arsenal would be hoping that the Higuain transfer stalemate could be finally broken as Real Madrid will look to move quickly to secure their own targets.

Earlier it had been reported that Rooney will hold back his decision until he talks to the club’s new manager and his former Everton boss David Moyes, who is on a holiday.

But with the Stamford Bridge also planning a bid for the star player and Rooney’s forthcoming crunch talks with Moyes, his move to the North London club is still far from certain. United would be hoping to convince Rooney to stay at the Old Trafford, with the club denying Rooney has requested a transfer.
