Manchester City make offer for Pepe

29 June 2013 - 06:54

Man City's new manager Manuel Pellegrini wants to sign Real Madrid centre back Pepe. The defender has been suggested as a possible partner for Vincent Kompany at the heart of the Citizen's defensive line for next season.

 • The Portugal international will be sold by Real as new manager Carlo Ancelotti aims to bring in a top class striker, such as Edinson Cavani, in this transfer window. Gonzalo Higuain is expected to quit the club whilst Pepe, 30, could also now be sold.
£20m is the figure that has been suggested in the Daily Mirror should a potential deal go through for the defender.
The defender is known to be a huge fan of the Premier League and is hopeful that a deal can be reached between both clubs and that he will be able to spend the new season playing under Pellegrini.
