Tottenham tracking Ghana international Daniel Opare

29 June 2013 - 12:04

Tottenham's technical director Franco Baldini has been discussing a move for Ghana's international defender Daniel Opare with Spurs' manager Andre Villas-Boas. Opare is currently playing in Belgium for Standard Liege.

  • Chelsea expected to sell striker after loan deal
  • Arsenal defender misses training ahead of Man Utd game

  • The versatile defender - who is comfortable playing at right back or left back - is one of a number of targets for Tottenham this summer. With a deal for Paulinho on the verge of completion, Baldini will now turn his attentions to defensive reinforcements and Opare is his preferred target.

Opare, who has been capped 10 times by his country, is a former Real Madrid youth team player. He is being considered by Tottenham as competition for the likes of Kyle Naughton, Kyle Walker, Danny Rose, Steven Caulker and Benoit Assou-Ekotto, but the latter could be heading for a summer Spurs exit.
