Barcelona to make cash plus player offer for Wayne Rooney

05 July 2013 - 16:57

The Catalan giants are set to make a tempting offer for Manchester United's striker Wayne Rooney.

  • Omari Hutchinson wants to continue at Ipswich Town
  • Mikel Arteta insists 27yo star won't be leaving Arsenal

  • According to sport.es Barcelona are set to make an ambitious offer as they hope to induce the Premier League champions cash in on forward Wayne Rooney.

The La Liga champions are  now ready to offer £21m plus veteran striker David Villa in exchange for England International Wayne Rooney, a switch that could be tempting for David Moyes, especially if the Old Trafford boss feels that he is powerless to resolve the broken relationship between the club and the player.

Barcelona manager Tito Vilanova may well prefer to form a lethal front three of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Wayne Rooney and can therefore afford to part ways with Villa as part of any offer for the 27 year old Man United Striker.

Rooney has so far notched up 197 goals in 401 appearances for Manchester United.
