Arsenal's move for Higuain in tatters

15 July 2013 - 00:54

Reports from the Spanish media suggest that the Real Madrid forward Gonzalo Higuain had made a change to his decision of leaving the Bernabeu, and is now relinquishing the prospect of wearing the Real Madrid jersey once again.

  • Chelsea expected to sell striker after loan deal
  • Arsenal defender misses training ahead of Man Utd game

  • A Frustrated Arsenal have asked the Argentine Interational striker to clear the air and make his position on a move to the Emirates Stadium imminent. The new Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti had revealed that he has no desire of letting go of the Argentine forward.

According to reports in the Metro, Higuain has had his personal talk with the manager and is very impressed with his plans for the future with the La Liga club. This would surely hurt Arsene Wenger, who has thus far heavily relied on Higuain’s switch to make his much anticipated statement of intent.Arsenal have had a talk with his agent about the transfer and a clear outcome on the situation is to be given in the next couple of days.

After being disillusioned by former manager Jose Mourinho for much of the season, Higuain made up his mind that he would be leaving the Bernabeu for new pastures elsewhere. However, Ancelotti may have calmed his interest and it looks like Arsenal’s record transfer offer of £23m has been laid to rest.

The Gunners boss Wenger has already started looking out for a respectable replacement and is closely monitoring the progress of Liverpool's Luis Suarez and Manchester United's Wayne Rooney.
