Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has spoken to club manager Brendan Rodgers and directors at Anfield and requested that he have permission to speak to Arsenal. A clause in his contract allows the Uruguayan forward to speak to all teams who make offers over a certain threshold.
According to reports, Arsenal have already matched the £40 million fee and over that Liverpool have put in Suarez's contract that allows him to speak to any club that makes an offer. The Anfield giants have supposedly rejected the offer from Arsenal, demanding a fee almost double the initial offer made by the Gunners.
However, sources close to the Liverpool side say that the Anfield giants will soon give in to Suarez's demands and allow the forward to make a move to the Emirates. Arsenal are confident they can secure a move for the player for around £45 million.
Suarez himself is eager to have talks with Arsenal as the clause in his contract has now been matched.
It appears that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is not concerned about Suarez's six game suspension in the Premier League as he has made Suarez his primary target for the transfer window.
