Tottenham chasing Edin Dzeko?

30 July 2013 - 13:28

Tottenham have been linked with a move for Manchester City's striker Edin Dzeko, but only should a transfer move for Valencia forward Roberto Soldado fall through. The Spanish striker has been linked with a 30 million Euro move to White Hart Lane.

 • Fabrizio Romano updates on Nicolas Jackson's future at Chelsea
 • Arsenal suffer big injury blow ahead of Fulham game
 • Tottenham are known to be looking for a new striker this summer as their top priority, as Emmanuel Adebayor appears to be heading for Turkey and Jermain Defoe, now 30, appears to be past the best years of his career.
Andre Villas-Boas and Tottenham's technical director Franco Baldini have drawn up an extensive shortlist of attacking talent, and Soldado remains the top choice.
However, should a move for the striker fall through, Spurs will turn to Man City forward Edin Dzeko as their next purchase. The Bosnian forward has fallen down the pecking order at the Etihad Stadium as the arrivals of Stevan Jovetic and Alvaro Negredo suggest that Manuel Pellegrini, the City manager, has other plans for the upcoming season.
Dzeko is valued at around £18 million, just short of the fee that City originally paid for the Bosnian international.
