Liverpool have been linked with a move for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Diego Capel. The Spaniard is available for around £6 million according to reports from Portugal, with the player apparently ready to leave his current club this summer.
Liverpool want to make Capel their fifth summer signing having already welcomed the likes of Kolo Toure, Luis Alberto and Iago Aspas. Marseille have already been linked with a move for the player but it appears Liverpool are still the favourites to sign Capel.
Capel has three years remaining on his current contract and the 25-year-old having signed a five year contract when he joined Sporting from Sevilla back in 2011.
Liverpool are still busy trying to work out whether or not forward Luis Suarez will be staying at the club and until the Uruguayan's future is decided it is also understood that Brendan Rodgers, the Reds' manager, will continue pursuing new players.
