Chelsea won't give up on Wayne Rooney transfer

05 August 2013 - 18:30

Despite Chelsea's first two offers for Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney both being rejected, eyefootball.com understands that the Blues' manager Jose Mourinho has no plans to quit his chase to sign the England international striker.

  • Rooney's strained relationship with Man Utd appears to be pushing him closer to the exit door, with United manager David Moyes seemingly ready to part with the former Everton forward should a bigger bid come from Chelsea. United have rejected both of Chelsea's first two approaches for Rooney.

Chelsea want to bring Rooney to London to spearhead their new look side, with Rooney guaranteed a starting place at Stamford Bridge ahead of Fernando Torres and Romelu Lukaku. It is understood that Demba Ba will be sold to accommodate the arrival of Rooney.

Jose Mourinho is ready to make a third offer for Rooney and remains confident that a deal can be wrapped up before the start of the new season in just under 2 weeks.
