Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri has denied to rule out a switch to his former club Marseille in the near future.

  • The Frenchman left the Stade Velodrome to join the Gunners during the summer of 2008, where he expressed himself as one of the best midfielders in the English Premier League before making a switch to the Citizens in 2011.

Samir Nasri was associated with a move away from the Premier League giants this summer, and he insisted that he is open to a switch back to French Ligue outfit Marseille as well as a spell in the Major League Soccer.

Nasri told L'Equipe : "Clearly, economic reality stops me from thinking about playing at OM right now.

"In the future, I don't know yet. I would like to discover the MLS. I love American culture."

When asked on a return to his former club Marseille, he added: "Why not in a few years? I've seen the Stade Velodrome half-finished. When the work's done, I feel sorry for opposing teams."

Nasri is yet to start a match for the Premier League runners-up this season.
