QPR manager Harry Redknapp unsure of Julio Cesar's future at the club

18 September 2013 - 14:40

Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has admitted that he is unsure as to whether Julio Cesar will try to fight his way into his starting XI for the Hoops this season.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • The 33-year-old Brazilian goalkeeper was expected to leave the Championship outfit during the summer transfer window following the club's relegation from the Premier League.

Redknapp told the club's official website : "It's a difficult situation with Julio and I'm surprised no one came in for him. He's a world-class keeper. [Brian] Murphy's also a good goalkeeper. And besides I don't know whether Julio wants to sit on the bench.

"His dream is to play in the World Cup in Brazil and I don't think this will affect his situation. The manager of Brazil thinks he's the number-one man and I don't think anything that happens at QPR is going to change that for him."
