Man Utd manager David Moyes is interested in acquiring the services of Red Ball Salzburg defender Martin Hinteregger according to a report from the Daily Star. United are hopeful they can fend off the interest of Liverpool and Lazio to sign the 21-year-old.
The talented youngster has recently burst onto the scene for the Austrian side and is now a first team regular for last year's league champions.
Man United are ready to open talks for the player in January and are hopeful a deal can be agreed for around 4.5 million Euros.
