Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik heaped praise on Arsenal following their 2-0 defeat last night in a Champions League encounter.
The Italians were completely outplayed by Arsene Wenger's boys last night and Hamsik is ready to give them the credit for the same. The Gunners scored both their goals in the opening quarter of the match and the Slovakia international thinks his team should have fared better during the early periods of the game.
"You cannot start a game in the manner that we did," the Slovakia international said.
"We gifted them with 15 minutes and two goals.
"After that, it becomes difficult to take a positive result against a team like Arsenal.
"They were just devastating early on and we were terrible."
Former Real Madrid striker, Gonzalo Higuain, who moved to the Naples side this summer missed the game as he failed a last minute fitness test. Hamsik agreed that the Argetine international was missed during the game but insisted that the team should have performed better.
"Higuain is an important player," Hamsik said.
"But there are others who filled in and we should have done better.
"We can certainly learn and improve from this."
