Former Real Madrid assistant manager Aitor Karanka has reportedly held discussions with Crystal Palace over the vacant managerial role, as per The Daily Mail.
The Spaniard served as an assistant to current Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho during his tenure at Los Blancos, and left the club following the arrival of Carlo Ancelloti with his own backroom staff.<br />
The Daily Mail reports that Karanka who has never managed a club side, had an interview with the Eagles co-chairman Steve Parish over the job vacancy last week.<br />
The Premier League strugglers are placed rock bottom of the league, having sacked manager Ian Holloway the past month.
