Arsenal send scouts to watch right back Sebastian Jung

10 November 2013 - 07:19

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has sent a team of scouts to watch Eintracht Frankfurt's right back Sebastian Jung. The talented 23-year-old defender is being considered as a possible long term replacement for Bacary Sagna.

  • Arsenal to swap Gabriel Jesus for Inter Milan star?
  • Arsenal leading race to sign Belgian midfielder

  • With French defender Sagna's contract talks appearing to have stalled for over five months, Arsenal are understandably nervous and are now scouting Europe for a replacement.

The Eintracht Frankfurt defender has already been targeted by the likes of both Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen, but has so far remained loyal to his boyhood club.

Jung has two years remaining on his deal in Frankfurt and talks over a new contract are reportedly already under way. Arsenal have seen Jung in action for both club and country, where he regularly plays for the German under-21 side. In recent months, Jung has also been called up for the full international side but has yet to make his debut.

As Jung is one of Germany's best young prospects there has been talk of a reported £8 million price tag on the defender.
